As a Food Science Intern with ARL Healthcare you will work closely with the MariMed team will have the unique opportunity to assist in the development of some of the leading edible cannabis brands on the market. This position will assist in preparation of benchtop samples, formulation improvement and development, conduct analytical and sensory testing, source new ingredients and equipment, develop routine maintenance documents and help build a quality assurance program.
Assist new product development in the execution of benchtop runs/experiments to commercial production.
Accurately weighs ingredients and closely follows process procedure
Become proficient in the production of all active SKU Support production efforts
Accurately report and communicate all results and findings from experimentation
Assess industry trends and make suggestions for new development
Assist in the sourcing of new ingredients and equipment
Validate alternate suppliers for ingredients
Assist in the development of a HACCP program and quality assurance documentation
Prepares samples and conducts sensory evaluations for new and existing products
Working towards or has a degree in Food Science or other related fields
Kitchen experience preferred
Strong communicator, both written and verbal
Ability to problem solve on the fly and adapt
Familiar with HACCP and quality assurance programs
Proactive self-starter – team player with a positive attitude
Microsoft office and excel experience preferred
Ability & willingness to travel
Ability to lift and move 50lbs
Must be 21 years or older
